- CALL TO ORDER: Renard Chatman called the meeting to order at 2 pm at the Clayton Library. Members present were Jill Britt, LaJean Corbett, Kathleen Stevens, Bobby Sheppard, James Lee, and Renard Chatman. Members absent were Jackie Young and ex-officio, Joe Parker.
- MINUTES: Jill Brill moved to accept the minutes as presented and James Lee seconded the motion. Motion carried.
- PUBLIC COMMENT (Comments limited to 5 minutes): There were no public comments.
- REPORTS
- Circulation:
- Library Director presented the figures for July and August. (See Attachment.)
- Financial:
- Current Balance Sheets: July/August: Library Director presented the financial figures for these months and mentioned the investments. (See Attachment)
- Budget 2021: Library Director presented the preliminary 2021 Budget. (See Attachment)
- Architect – Vidalia – Fred Bennett will be sending another drawing.
- COVID 19 Testing – Clayton Library has had good numbers of citizens participating in COVID Testing 65 to 150.
- Hotspot Policy: LaJean Corbett made a motion to accept the Hot Spot Policy evision as presented. Bobby Sheppard second the motion. Motion carried. (See Attachment)
- Saturday Math Tutor – With Mr. Collins the library will have some Saturdays of math tutoring.
- Bookmobile Fall Schedule – Staff working hard at schools and at residence deliveries.
- Test – Ethics & Sexual Harassment – Board was reminded to sit for 45 minute
- training at the Ferriday Library on sexual harassment.
- NEW BUSINESS
- Insurance – Cost analysis presented from Reed Insurance and the lower price was accepted with Glatfeilter. (See Attachment)
- Virtual Programs – A list of programs were presented and still working on others for 2021. (See Attachment)
- Hurricane Closing – Library closed for one day.
- Sources/Databases – A new sheet has been created for the schools and for the library webpage.
- Air Filters – Purifiers have been purchased for all of the desk and computer stations.
- Summer Reading Evaluations – Library evaluations were sent to state library.
- LEH Grant – Progress is being made on the development of Italian Immigrants and Settlers.
- New COE – A new student worker was received from Ferriday High and is doing well.
- Third Street – Mayor Rydell Turner was contacted about the repair of the street that runs in front of the library.

APPROVED- CALL TO ORDER : Mr. Renard Chatman called the meeting to order at 2 pm. Members present were Jill Britt, LaJean Corbett, Jackie Young, Kathleen Stevens, Bobby Sheppard, James Lee, and Renard Chatman. Member absent was ex-officio.
- Virtual Summer Presentation: Stephen Collins presented a sample of the summer virtual programming that the library created for Concordia’s youth. Collins did an excellent job preparing material for 7 days a week and for 10 full weeks this summer. The library board gave him a round of applause for a job well done.
- MINUTES: Jackie Young moved to accept the minutes as mailed and James Lee seconded the motion. Motion carried.
- PUBLIC COMMENT (Comments limited to 5 minutes): There were no public comments.
- REPORTS
- Circulation: Library Director presented the figures for May and June. (See Attachment.)
- Financial

- Current Balance Sheets – May/June: Library Director presented the financial figures for these months and mentioned the investments. (See Attachment)
- Architect – Vidalia: The architect sent one drawing but he will be sending another for the board to review. (See Attachment.)
- Ethics: Library Director reminded all board to be sure to take the test.
- Bookmobile: The bookmobile service is doing a good job in the Monterey area. Some of the central stops were not as successful as hoped but the bookmobile made every effort.
- School system: School system allowed the library’s Robo call to announce theThursday programs. An effort was made to place a bookmark about summer programs on the food boxes picked up on Monday in the different locations. This was not as successful as had been hoped.
- Hotspot Checkout/Policy: Jill Britt made a motion to accept the policy on checking out hot spots and James Lee seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mr. Lee was happy to see this available to families.
- Magazines Order: The magazine order has added more black magazines of interest and hopefully citizens will enjoy.
- Garden Club: Both the Ferriday Garden Club and the Vidalia Garden Club have asked for a program in February on flower books and both meetings will be in our library buildings.
- COVID-19 Testing: The next testing sites are listed and the Clayton Library is being used on July 20th. See Attachment
- Tutors: Tutors are using the Vidalia Library in preparing for the schools opening.
- Yard Care: Library Director reported the owner of the company being used has some health issues and hoping he will be able to continue service.
