Geographical Service Area/Eligibility for Borrowing
The library serves the citizens who reside in the boundaries of Concordia Parish. Any person permanently residing in the parish will be authorized to use all services of the library with a library card. There are two (2) types of cards available for citizens. TWO TYPES OF CARDS:- The LIBRARY CARD allows a patron to check out all physical materials and use all electronic services. This requires two items of proof of residence (i.e. utility/cable/telephone bill, voter registration, or bank statement) AND Driver’s License or Photo I.D. Card will be issued immediately without charge
- ON-LINE REGISTRATION can be created to allow access to Wi-Fi, public access, e-Services and downloadable databases. When coming into the library on-line registration will be updated to receive a physical library card for access to all services.
- Persons who do not reside in the parish but who work and/or attend school in the parish, or own property and pay property taxes shall be eligible to use all library services free of charge. Proof of payment of property tax maybe requested.
- Library cards may be issued to residents of Tensas and Catahoula, neighboring parishes free of charge, due to Trail Blazer and other cooperatives.
- Library cards may be purchased for $20.00 per year for individuals who live out of state and/or out of the designated service area.
- Each time a card is lost or replaced, the previously held card becomes invalid for further use and must be destroyed if found. To continue library service, a new card can be purchased for $1.00. There is a limit of three (3) cards per year at $1.00 each. Each additional card after the first three cards increases to $15.00 per card.
- With guidance from a parent, a child at any age, may receive his/her own library card if they can write their name, address, etc. to fill out the library card application. The library recommends the age of 6 for children to get their library cards.
